Markus inspiration was an indie game called Infiniminer from ZachtronicIndustires. He wanted to create his own game and Infiniminer pushed him to the limits to create an indie game with limited resources. So he quit his job in June 2009 and started working on Minecraft games. It was released in the market on 17th may 2009, as an alpha version and later with more upgrades and development a full version was released on 18th of November 2011. Here are the following release dates of new upgrades and different version:

  • October 7, 2011 an android version was released.
  • November 17, 2011 the iOS version was released in the market.
  • Co-developed by 4J Studios the games was released on Xbox 360 on May 9, 2012.

All the versions of Minecraft got upgrades within few months. On November 19th, 2011, Jeb (Jens Bergensten) took over the creative control of Minecraft since Markus wanted to work on new projects.

Minecraft is great when it comes to build new hurdles and whole architecture of the game world

The game also includes combat, exploration and gathering resources too. The Game play has two major modes in its commercial release: The survival mode and the creative mode.

Minecraft modesAs the game is open world so there is no basic goal out there to achieve; but the modes make it really interesting. The survival mode is the basic games where the player needs to get all the resources as much as possible to stay alive, get points and health to win.

Where in Creative mode, the player feels like a superman with unlimited resource, no need for health and ability to fly. The third one is called hardcore mode, which is the hardest one out of all of them. It is an expansion of Survival with more difficulties and once the player dies it deletes their world too.

Notch originally designed the game for PC platforms. Minecraft, the game can run on different kind of operating system available in the market, like Window, Mac OSx and Linux as well. The older version of Minecraft is available online to play for free. It runs in the classic mode and is great fun to play.

Minecraft is also available in different edition such as Pocket Edition, Xbox 360 edition and Pi edition too. Pocket Edition was released in the market for Androids and Xperia play with an alpha version. Later upgraded, with more compatible devices it was re-released in October 8th. This doesn’t have all the features of the PC version and majorly concentrates on the survival mode. Xbox 360 edition has upgraded features like new crafting system, in game tutorials, multiplayer with spit screen and play live too. The last but not the least the Pi Edition was revealed in 2012 at Minecon. It was officially released in 2013 and has a great resemblance to the pocket version.
